Our story

Limetree began with family—and a little inspiration from a holiday.

When our Mini was born, the dream of Limetree began. During a trip to Bath with my husband, Keith, we were having lunch at Café Rouge when I spotted a lovely gift shop next door called Vinegar Hill. I went in for a look, and came away dreaming of a shop of our own.

Even the name started there. After playing with all sorts of ideas inspired by Vinegar Hill, I found the one that felt right: Limetree.

In 2009, we opened our first shop in Stewarton, Ayrshire. It was a modest beginning. Keith and I worked away, making it as beautiful as we could, with little Mini sitting in the shop window while we got everything ready.

Today, that love of making things beautiful runs through Limetree Lifestyle—from thoughtful presents for the people you love to lovely pieces that make your home feel like you.
